Ypsomed and CamDiab announces agreement to integrate mylife Loop with Abbott’s upcoming glucose-ketone sensor  – 

Fourth AID developer to confirm intention to offer this integration, alongside Sequel, Tandem, and Beta Bionics

Ypsomed and CamDiab announced today an agreement with Abbott to integrate mylife Loop with Abbott’s forthcoming dual glucose-ketone sensor. Ypsomed is now the fourth AID manufacturer to publicly confirm an upcoming integration, the second this week after Beta Bionics announced plans yesterday to integrate iLet with this sensor.

Background on dual glucose-ketone sensor

As a reminder, Abbott’s dual glucose-ketone sensor, which was first announced in June 2022, will measure the ketone beta-hydroxybutyrate. While a pivotal trial was expected in 2023, Abbott has not publicly commented on the sensor’s development for several quarters, so its clinical and regulatory status is currently unclear.

ADA will feature several symposia on continuous ketone monitoring

Abbott may provide updates on the development of its sensor tomorrow at ADA 2025 in its product theater “Empowering Personalized Diabetes Care, the Next Frontier of Sensing Technology” at 10:15 am CT. At ADA 2024, Abbott formally unveiled FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus in the company’s product theater, so we’re curious if Abbott may again opt to officially reveal a new sensor during ADA. Additionally, on the final day of the conference, Prof. Ketan Dhatariya (University of East Anglia, UK), Dr. Lori Laffel (Joslin Diabetes Center), Dr. Jennifer Sherr (Yale University), and Dr. Rich Bergenstal (International Diabetes Center) will review existing data on ketone monitors and evaluate its clinical applications in a symposium at 8 am CT.
