Tidepool’s cloud-to-cloud integration with FreeStyle Libre data aims to expand patient choice and increase provider workflow efficiency
Tidepool just announced that its anticipated integration with Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre portfolio is live, allowing users to connect FreeStyle Libre data to Tidepool accounts. The partnership was first announced in October 2024. The cloud-to-cloud integration enables continuous integration for providers, making it possible to eliminate manual uploads to the Tidepool Data Platform. For providers using Tidepool+, this launch will allow for automatic insights from FreeStyle Libre users, simplifying the data acquisition process. To support this launch, Tidepool has published instructions for patients and providers on how to link LibreView and Tidepool accounts.
Expansion builds on Tidepool’s existing interoperability with prior Dexcom integration
With Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre platform representing over seven million global users, this launch significantly expands Tidepool’s potential user base. The nonprofit has facilitated manual uploads from most CGM and insulin pump brands but, until now, only offered cloud-to-cloud CGM integration with Dexcom.
