TrumpRx launches in the US with Most Favored Nation pricing for Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, and more –
Novo Nordisk, Lilly, and other companies enter most favored nation (MFN) pricing agreements, significantly reducing monthly out-of-pocket costs for patients in the US
The White House announced yesterday that TrumpRx has launched. The platform is designed to provide patients in the US greater access to prescription drugs priced at levels comparable to those paid in other developed nations under most‑favored‑nation (MFN) agreements. The platform features discounted, manufacturer cash‑pay programs at lower prices on several therapies across diabetes, obesity, cardiometabolic disease, and more. TrumpRx includes products from manufacturers that have signed MFN pricing agreements with the current administration, including multiple large companies we cover, including AstraZeneca, Lilly, Novo Nordisk, and Pfizer.
Therapies from Lilly and Novo Nordisk for diabetes and weight loss offered at significantly reduced prices
Incretin-based therapies have been a major early focus of TrumpRx, reflecting their rapid uptake coupled with the high out‑of‑pocket burden that they impose on many patients. For patients outside Medicare and Medicaid coverage, TrumpRx lists substantial cash‑pay discounts for leading obesity and diabetes therapies in the GLP-1 RA class, as well as SGLT-2 inhibitor Farxiga (dapagliflozin).
Novo Nordisk’s Ozempic (semaglutide for T2D) and Wegovy (semaglutide for obesity) will be available for an average of $350 per month, compared to list prices of roughly $1,000 and $1,350, respectively, and could be offered as low as $199 per month for lower doses. Oral Wegovy, approved by the FDA in December 2025, will be offered at a price as low as $149 per month. Lilly’s Zepbound (tirzepatide for obesity) and orforglipron (oral GLP-1 RA), the latter still pending FDA approval, will be priced on average around $346 per month through the platform, and as low as $299 per month.

MFN requirements for manufacturers and upcoming Medicare pricing
The cash pay discounts come alongside broader policy commitments negotiated with the companies. Under the MFN agreement, announced in November 2025, Novo Nordisk and Lilly must:
- guarantee MFN prices for all new medicines they bring to market;
- repatriate increased foreign revenue on existing products; and
- extend MFN pricing to every state Medicaid program.
The TrumpRx listings operate alongside previously announced federal pricing changes for Medicare and Medicaid, which will offer GLP‑1 RA therapies, including Mounjaro, Zepbound, Ozempic, and Wegovy, at $245 per month with a $50 beneficiary copay beginning mid‑2026.
Close Concerns’ Questions
- How might TrumpRx pricing influence competition between branded GLP‑1 RAs and compounded semaglutide, particularly for oral formulations?
- What additional manufacturers are expected to join TrumpRx, and how quickly could the platform expand beyond the initial agreement among the five companies?
- What financial implications will repatriating increased foreign revenue have for Novo Nordisk and Lilly?
