Tandem t:slim X2 now compatible with Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus CGM in five European countries  –

Tandem expands t:slim X2 interoperability with Abbott's FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus CGM in the UK, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, and Italy

Tandem announced today that its t:slim X2 insulin pump is now available for use with Abbott’s Freestyle Libre 3 Plus CGM in the UK, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, and Italy. The company expects to add this year the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium.

Tandem launched t:slim X2 integration with Freestyle Libre 3 Plus in June 2025 in the US.

Tandem’s t:slim X2 is now compatible with five CGMs globally

Since 2020, Tandem has expanded t:slim X2 compatibility with several CGM platforms in the US and abroad. In the US, t:slim X2 launched integration with the Dexcom G6 January 2020, followed by Dexcom G7 integration in December 2023. Integration with Abbott’s Freestyle Libre 2 Plus launched in the US in January 2024, followed by FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus in June 2025. Most recently, Tandem announced compatibility with Dexcom G7 15 Day in May 2026.

While the company does not publish country-level patient counts in Europe, Tandem has reported increasing OUS revenue in recent quarters. In 1Q26, Tandem reported the highest international sales quarter its history, totaling $86 million. The same quarter, the company reported $160 million in US revenue.

FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus and t:slim X2 integration expands available CGM options and improves convenience for users

The FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor can be worn for up to 15 days and captures glucose readings every minute. This data is available both on the pump itself and on the Tandem t:Connect mobile app. The t:slim X2 insulin pump uses Control IQ+ technology – a hybrid closed-loop algorithm that can adjust insulin every five minutes based on predicted glucose values.

Expanded interoperability allows Tandem users to have more choice in which CGM sensor fits their lifestyle and insurance coverage best.

Close Concern’s Questions

  1. How important is CGM flexibility in influencing pump choice compared with algorithm performance, ease of use, or cost?
  2. Will compatibility with the Libre 3 Plus sensor improve adoption in European countries?
  3. Which additional international markets would provide the greatest target opportunity for Tandem?
  4. Will the Mobi system follow with FSL 3 Plus interoperability?
