Tandem expands interoperability as t:slim X2 integrates Dexcom G7 15 Day –
Longer-wear CGM option reduces sensor burden and expands flexibility within Tandem’s AID system
Tandem announced that its t:slim X2 insulin pump is now available for use with Dexcom’s G7 15 Day CGM in the US. While t:slim X2 has offered integration with Dexcom G7 since 2023, this update extends compatibility to the latest generation, following FDA clearance of the sensor in April 2025 for adults aged 18 and older and launch in December. The system retains key G7 features, including a 12-hour grace period, direct-to-Apple Watch connectivity, and an 8% MARD, consistent with prior-generation G7 performance.
Integration adds to Tandem’s interoperability strategy
This integration represents Tandem’s expansion of CGM options for the t:slim X2 AID system. Tandem has steadily expanded interoperability over the past two years:
CGM System | Wear Duration | t:slim X2 Compatibility |
| Dexcom G6 | 10 days | Yes (January 2020) |
| Dexcom G7 | 10 days | Yes (December 2023) |
| Dexcom G7 15 Day | 15.5 days | Yes (May 2026) |
| FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus | 15 days | Yes (January 2024) |
| FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus | 15 days | Yes (June 2025) |
| Eversense 365 | 365 days | No |
Competitive landscape: G7 15 Day integration expands across AID systems
Integration of Dexcom’s G7 15 Day across AID system is now beginning to scale, following its initial launch in December 2025. Current and expected compatibility includes:
- Insulet’s Omnipod 5: Integrated at launch (December 2025)
- Beta Bionics’ iLet: Integrated at launch (December 2025)
- Tandem’s t:slim X2: Newly integrated as of this week, extending existing G7 compatibility to the G7 15 Day
- Tandem Mobi: Expected integration in 1H26
Close Concerns’ Questions
- How quickly will G7 15 Day integration be rolled out to existing t:slim X2 users?
- How might extended sensor wear improve long-term adherence and compare between AID systems?
- How does Tandem expect sensor mix to evolve as users choose between 10-day G7 and the G7 15 Day, especially as G6 will be discontinued in July?
